 Hello, I'm Lisa Kissler, a licensed therapist in Colorado specializing in trauma therapy and recovery. My passion is helping individuals overcome life's challenges and lead fulfilling lives. My therapeutic approach is based on empathy, mindfulness, and evidence-based modalities.

I provide a non-judgmental space for my clients to express themselves and understand their emotions. I am dedicated to ensuring my clients feel heard and supported as they navigate their challenges. My clinical experience involves working with patients experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD, or panic attacks.  I have extensive knowledge on family systems, attachment disorders, and can help people recover from abusive relationships.

I specialize in educating and coaching families who support loved ones with severe mental illness, like bipolar disorder with psychosis. My background includes working in a community mental health center and a private psychiatric facility for people needing higher levels of care over several weeks.

Severe mental illness includes diagnoses of bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and psychosis. These conditions require a long-term plan for management and includes an interdisciplinary team of a therapist, a psychiatrist, and a loved one for the best treatment outcomes.

Psychosis is a serious psychiatric condition that requires immediate medical attention. For the person suffering, family support and understanding are critical.  In some cases, there may be times of stability, followed by times of crisis, requiring intervention. Education and preparation are key to the best outcomes.

Lisa has extensive experience helping families understand serious mental health conditions and how best to navigate these challenges and to prepare for emergencies. She is available for family consultations in a private, HIPPA compliant online session.
